What We Believe
Village Church holds firmly to the historic Christian faith as revealed in Scripture.
The Bible is the inspired Word of God, infallible and inerrant in its original manuscripts. We believe all Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness.
We affirm belief in the Triune God — three persons of one substance, all equally divine: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. There is one God eternally existing in three persons.
Jesus Christ possessed both complete humanity and divinity. We affirm His virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death on the cross, bodily resurrection three days later, ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His future return in glory.
The Holy Spirit is coequal with God the Father and Son. He is the giver of spiritual gifts who indwells and empowers Christians to live a godly life, convicts the world of sin, and testifies of Christ.
Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. Good works are evidence of saving faith in Christ — not the means of it. We believe in the justification of the sinner by faith and the eternal security of the believer.
The Church is the body of Christ, composed of all who have trusted in Jesus as Savior and Lord. Its mission is to make disciples of all nations through proclaiming the Gospel, baptizing believers, and teaching obedience to Christ.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people — those who have received Christ to everlasting life, and those who have not to judgment. Heaven and hell are real and eternal destinations.
